Donald Trump, the Highway of Holiness and Our Possible Future in America

I recently received an email from Jeremiah Johnson Ministries with the subject line, “Urgent Message.” Now, this is has been a trusted source for quite a while, but somehow last night’s message didn’t feel like just another “update” message. So I decided to click it.

In the email, Jeremiah Johnson talked about two books he authored based on several prophetic dreams God had given him in 2019 for 2020 and beyond Trump’s re-election. I was grateful for this email as he shared three dreams that I believe are extremely pertinent for what we are facing today in America. But I want to share with you a second witness concerning these dreams that God gave Jeremiah.

I need to back up to 2014/15 before I go on any further to how I became a Trump supporter. Back in 2014-2015, you probably could have called me a “never-Trumper.” God had revealed so much to me about Ben Carson, that I don’t think you could have paid me to become a Trump supporter during that season. I became such an avid believer in Ben Carson. I started to write to for his SuperPAC and finally got to go to the Iowa Caucuses and caucus for him at one of the largest caucus sites in Iowa. It was a wonderful time getting to know some of his campaign staff and even meeting and opening for Dr. Carson in a town hall meeting in Iowa.

But my avid reluctance toward Donald Trump came from something God showed me back then that I didn’t know what to do with at the time and that I spoke very little about to people because it was so mysterious to me until I read this email last night. What God showed me in 2015 was that Donald Trump had the potential to be a double-edged sword. I didn’t quite know what it meant, but I only knew it meant that he was capable of becoming something very dangerous.

Long story short, after the Iowa caucuses, the media did their unfortunate “due-diligence” along with other political tactics that really put a nail in Carson’s 2016 presidential campaign efforts and a month later, Dr. Carson came out in support of Donald Trump and fully endorsed him.

That day felt like the there was crack in the universe in the Carson Camp. Nothing made sense because we all knew that God had played a huge role in Carson’s campaign.

God so clearly called Dr. Carson and so many believers that I personally trusted felt the same way, it was beyond our understanding at the time as to how God could let this happen.

In fact, the weeks leading up to Iowa, I felt like I had a “prophetic insight” into Donald Trump’s future, and tried to put it into words. I wrote an article titled, “Can You See the Hand?” which was about Dr. Carson being hand picked by God and God extending his hands of mercy through Dr. Carson’s healing hands. But as a prophet said just this year in 2020, America lost the privilege for gentle correction some years ago. Something harsher was needed. But I hardly knew anything about operating in the prophetic and at that time in 2014/15, I had certainly not heard of Jeremiah Johnson, Mark Taylor and I don’t believe I had heard of Kim Clement either.

The article “Can you See the Hand?” I believe was accurate in many ways, but I couldn’t see the bigger picture at that time which I wound up taking down because I didn’t know what to do after all the prophetic words pertaining to Donald Trump and him being chosen by God to become president. But that bigger picture has been slowly unveiling over the last four years with what I believe a huge piece of it was given to Jeremiah Johnson through this latest post on his three dreams (Click Here to Read). What does the Bible say, we know in part and prophesy in part? I bring this up because God gave me the title of the follow up article to “Can you See the Hand?” which was to be called, “Can You See the Fist?” about Donald Trump having the potential to turn into a dictator. I was unable to complete that article and looking back, I believe it was prophetic that I couldn’t write it because of several factors, but the most important thing was that I don’t think that word was for that time in 2015, as many things still needed to play out over the last 4 years leading up to the warning about the first.

Fast-forward to 2020, minutes before I opened this email from Jeremiah Johnson, God reminded me of a revelation He gave me in 2019 that I had just made mention to my husband about it before opening up that email, about how Isaiah 60 was such a serious warning and how God’s glory is dangerous if we have pride in our hearts. During that night with God in 2019, (you can hear the full revelation expressed in this message here), one of the things He showed me was Isaiah 60-62, but He had me read it out of order. He had me read Isaiah 61, 62 then chapter 60 with chapter 60 being a dire warning.

Isaiah 60 is the chapter that starts out like this, “Arise, Shine for your Light has come and the Glory of the Lord has risen upon you.” God was warning us that after we take back our land a second time, be careful of the riches and esteem that come in wisdom’s left hand (Proverbs 3:16). (When the right is mentioned in the Bible, it typically signifies strength and solid ground, but the left means a warning, to take head and be cautious). Remember, Lucifer masquerades as an angel of light, but where did He get that light? He was the anointed cherub that covered (Ezekiel 28:14). That night, the Holy Spirit made me understand that when the glory of the Lord comes, watch out for pride. Watch out. Watch out. Watch out. Guard yourself against being lifted up in our own heart, lest we become proud and grow hard. This revelation was only further cemented last night when I read that email from Jeremiah Johnson that you can read here.

Saints, we are living in perilous times walking through some very definite narrow gates. We are walking on the Highway of Holiness (Isaiah 35). It is so high, so great, so perilous that no fool can wander on it, but neither can any ravenous beast be found there, so there is utmost safety if we stay there. We have been given hinds’ feet in high places for such a time as this, but we need a few things readily on hand while we walk this perilous journey on that mountain ridge of the Highway of Holiness, as God is getting ready to save America once again.

As His desire is always for salvation, I want to provide you with four lifelines, if you will, that will help us along our journey on this definite and dire strait of a mountaintop.

1.We need humility/meekness. What does this mean? It means that while we are on this journey, we must anticipate sinning and falling short of the glory of God. Many times, this can kick us off this highway of Holiness, but how do we get back on? Through renouncing of and repenting for the very thing that we messed up on. This process often includes forgiving anyone that may have wronged us. For many years, if I messed up, I would chastise myself, hate what I did, turn away from it, and well, just live with the guilt and shame of having screwed up, all while keeping it private. I would also bury the feelings of hurt, betrayal or anything else I felt, do my best to forgive others in silence while not receiving emotional healing for the wound that had been dealt. I would confess my sin or trespass to Him, but rarely before anyone else. Does any of that sound relatable? But this year, God has corrected me and shown me that His Word says to actually confess before others, repent, renounce , forgive and in essence, make it very clear before Him and anyone else necessary, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, to give testimony to Him and other pertinent parties that I repent for and renounce that behavior and to forgive others so that I may be forgiven (Matt. 6:14) and receive healing. Once I started doing that, I saw my life become cleansed of old habits I previously couldn’t overcome, I began to be healed of diseases and received breakthrough and growth in my relationships. Having the humility to confess, repent and renounce and forgive is crucial to this walk. I wrote an blog on this process that you can find here.

2. We must guard very closely what comes out of our mouths. Many times we have heard the phrase, “life and death are in the power of the tongue.” But until this year, I hadn’t seen first hand how much deeper this could go. Two scriptures came to mind that drove this home even deeper. Yeshua, when talking about healing, said to the centurion in Matthew 8:13, said, “Go! As you have believed so it will be done for you.” Declarations with our mouths seem to be able to either unleash God’s power on our lives or hinder it, bringing up a second thing Yeshua said to the Pharisees and Sadducees. He said in Mark 7:13, “nullifying the Word of Elohim through your tradition which you have handed down. And many such traditions you do.”  How do we hand down traditions? Through words and actions. Proverbs 13:3 says, “The one who guards his mouth preserves his life; The one who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.” So, guarding our mouths is extremely important when the stakes are this high.

3. Receive with meekness the Word of God which is able to save our lives (James 1:21). This is two-fold. I want to present this scripture along side another by Paul in 2 Corinthians 11:3 that says this: “But I am afraid, lest, as the serpent deceived Eve by his trickery, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Messiah.” We must keep this journey simple. We can’t allow ourselves to get caught up in complicated information or vain philosophies during this information age! For if we scroll down to 2 Corinthians 11:14, it says this: “Satan Himself masquerades as a messenger of light.” The simplicity that is in Yeshua is that He alone is our salvation. Only His blood can wash away our sins. No amount of self-condemnation or buried feelings can do this. Dearest Remnant, do you want to learn one of the secrets of deep intercession and repentance? Bare yourself before the Father, confessing all, even if it’s with others. King David said, “I will become even more undignified than this,” and He did it in front of an entire nation! Now isn’t a time for worrying about how we appear before men. It’s a time to get real with the Father even in the presence of others. We can’t hide anything from Him anyways, so let’s confess, repent, weep before others and Him, let’s humble ourselves truly before the Father because I believe with our humility and genuine intercession, God can and will guard the heart of Donald Trump from becoming a Nebuchadnezzar, so that we can keep God’s hand of mercy and so that we will not need a fist. Remember, God only gives us the leaders that we need and we can be vessels of compassion or vessels of wrath, which I will get into below. We can do our part here in helping carry this burden, because we don’t want to have to be humbled by God any worse than we already have, because God is sovereign through out all of 2020. He didn’t lose His authority because of a coronavirus. He reigns and rules and folks, we need him to rule in compassion over us as we walk through this narrow gate that could lead to possibly one of the greatest victories we have ever seen on planet earth!

4. Finally, I have to put this in here or I would be in disobedience to God. Romans 9:18, says this, “So, then, He favours whom He wishes, and He hardens whom He wishes.” For centuries, books have been written on this subject, but I want to present this is in light of Jeremiah 10:23, ” O יהוה, (Yahweh) I know the way of man is not in himself, it is not for man who walks to direct his own steps.” This isn’t to breed an apathetic church who can sit back and watch our lives unfold without any effort. Quite simply, it’s the opposite, but I need to explain this concept in a court setting. For years, I worked in the juvenile and family courts and would watch judges make rulings. Some rulings were hard to watch, like children being taken into foster care in front of the parents, or sentencing children for heinous crimes against animals and even possible homicide suspects and for other things like school truancy and behavioral problems in school and communities, but the entire process in court was quite intriguing. It was like prosecutors and defendants were filling these invisible bowls before the judge, yet whatever they filled them with; testimonies, witnesses, and evidence, though these bowls were invisible to my eyes, the substance with which they were filled weighed so much that it tipped the scales of justice to either compassion and mercy or harshness in the resulting judgment. But there was one “substance” that filled these balances in the court that seemed to always help someone and that was obtaining witness through effort. The witness that was obtained through efforts carried weight in court. Judges were very often impressed with efforts made, especially extra effort in carrying out duties, sentences, following laws, and court requirements and mandates. And these efforts could be something as simple as a family or juvenile dressing up for court or a person recounting of own efforts made to fulfill court rulings. And the only other thing that was heavier than effort, was a testimony made by a third party on behalf of that person’s effort. That third party testimony, sometimes would be in the form of a letter to the judge or a verbal testimony of a client’s efforts, I watched many times has it made a huge impact on the judge’s ruling and the outcome of the case. I saw the judge rule on what many times seemed like only on the basis of third-party witness of testifying that either: 1. every effort was made or 2. inadequate effort was made or 3. no effort was made all. In the end, the judge had and always has the final say in court, but doing our part to build that witness, especially that third party witness was crucial to a court case. It was, more often than not, the deciding factor.

So what does that mean here? I firmly believe that God wants us to build witness so that God can issue a judgment of not needing to harden Trump’s heart and we can become vessels of His compassion rather than vessels of wrath created for destruction like Romans 9 talks about. God is giving us this window of opportunity to build witness to see who God can trust to steward His Kingdom. Because I believe it is going to invade earth, and very soon. His Kingdom will come and His will will be done on earth as it is in Heaven, but God is scanning the earth for those He can entrust to steward to rule and reign with His Son.

His son will not return as the suffering servant, but as the Conquering King and I believe He wants to get His Remnant ready for that!

Isaiah 60 is a description of what it will be like when darkness covers the earth and the esteem of the Lord is risen upon His Remnant. It’s a not only a beautiful description of what is to come, but a dire warning to steward such an awesome gift of subduing nations. A warning that when the glory of the Lord shines down on us, we don’t want to have any unrighteousness found in us like was found in Lucifer that was explained in Ezekiel 28. Our hearts can’t run the risk of growing proud in the midst of such awesome beauty, wonder, power and glory. This is what happened with Lucifer, Nebuchadnezzar and what Donald Trump now runs the risk of falling into that pride and hardness of heart according to the dreams given to Jeremiah Johnson and the insight God showed me years ago that I mentioned above.

In the end, love is the driving force for all of this. His love is the driving force in us. I firmly believe that one of the opposites of fear isn’t just courage, but also love. The Word says that He hasn’t given us a spirit of fear, but of love, power and sound mind. If we find ourselves driven by fear, it may be a good indicator to go to the Lord in prayer about it.

It is my firm belief that God’s desire is to make us, this generation, vessels of compassion. I truly believe it with everything in me. But I believe we have some bowls to fill before He can do that. Church, we have our marching orders! We have the winning battle plan! This is it! Be encouraged because He that began a good work in you is faithful and just to bring it to completion!

  1. Rachel, I needed this. I was like you when Dr. Carson withdrew from his campaign. Then my husband and I saw Donald Trump at the Mabee Center at ORU. I believe you did, too. There he was in all his bombastic glory. I began to change my mind. I wore my Ben Carson hat to hear Donald Trump. Many people on Facebook called themselves the Carsonators. God used that campaign to teach me critical things–honoring my husband and listening to him. I learned the hard way. I have to confess that I have been jealous of your beautiful writing because I have been writing for a long time. I have also envied your beautiful spirit. I ask for your forgiveness.
My life has been a similar journey to yours. I loved Jesus as a child but things happened, and I was afraid of the Lord for many years. When I started believing who I was through scripture then the real healing began with the help of a godly counselor and a Labrador Retriever. We walked all over our neighborhood daily–several miles a day. It took me 43 yrs.
Rachel, thank you for being in my life. I love you and your family.
